First Look at Shrek 2

Thousands of fans have been introduced to the stars of DreamWorks' upcoming animated films at the 2003 Comic-Con International, being held from July 17 - 20 in San Diego, California.

The DreamWorks booth features art from the animated films Shrek 2 and Sharkslayer. Also represented is the new animated comedy series Father of the Pride, being produced by DreamWorks for NBC's 2004-2005 slate. In addition to the art showcasing the cast of characters from each of the projects, attendees have the opportunity to view conceptual behind-the-scenes art of the sets and character development.



Opening in Summer 2004, Shrek 2 continues the adventures of the loveable green ogre, his bride Princess Fiona, and his trusty but talkative friend Donkey. The film reunites the cast from Shrek, including Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz, while introducing a new band of characters voiced by Antonio Banderas, Julie Andrews, John Cleese, Rupert Everett, and Jennifer Saunders.

Sharkslayer is an undersea comedy about a little fish who gets into hot water when he pretends to be something he's not -- a great sharkslayer. The film features an all-star cast, including Will Smith, Robert De Niro, Renee Zellweger, Angelina Jolie, Jack Black, Martin Scorsese, Peter Falk, Michael Imperioli, Vincent Pastore, Kevin Pollak, Doug E. Doug and Ziggy Marley. Sharkslayer is the first CG film to be produced out of DreamWorks' new state-of-the-art pipeline in Glendale, CA.

Father of the Pride, the first completely computer-animated series for primetime television, focuses on the magical world of Las Vegas' famed Siegfried and Roy -- seen through the eyes of their extraordinary white lions and other animals. The series stars the voices of John Goodman, Orlando Jones, Cheryl Hines and Carl Reiner. It will debut on NBC in the fall of 2004.

Monica Bellucci is the Evil Queen in Brothers Grimm

"Matrix" star Monica Bellucci has signed to play the evil queen in Terry Gilliam's Brothers Grimm, now shooting in Prague.

A Dimension Films-MGM co-production, Brothers Grimm is the story of two traveling con artists who perform bogus exorcisms and pretend to protect people from enchanted creatures until they encounter a real magical curse in a haunted forest.

Bellucci will portray the forest's ruler, a woman who has found eternal life but not eternal beauty. She turns to the forest in order to procure the young virgins whose blood she needs to stay lovely.

The film stars Matt Damon, Heath Ledger and Jonathan Pryce. Written by Gilliam, Tony Grisoni and Ehren Kruger, production is expected to continue through mid-November.

Lancelot Cast For King Arthur

Variety reports the following:

Ioan Gruffudd has been set to play Lancelot in "King Arthur."

Gruffudd, best known for playing the title role in the TV series "Horatio Hornblower," will star alongside Clive Owen, who plays King Arthur, and Keira Knightley ("Bend it Like Beckham"), who plays Guinevere. Stephan Dillane also stars. Antoine Fuqua is directing and Jerry Bruckheimer is producing.

Scripted by David Franzoni and John Lee Hancock, "Arthur" eliminates the fantasy from the well-known tale and instead concentrates on the history and politics in the reign of the king after the Roman empire collapsed and power skirmishes broke out in 450 A.D.
