Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines star Nick Stahl has joined the ensemble cast of the independent drama West Memphis Three, directed by Alex Steyermark.
Based on the true story of a 1993 Arkansas murder case in which three teenagers were controversially arrested and charged with killing three other young boys, the project also stars Michael Pitt, Jacob Reynolds, Doug Hutchison, Drea de Matteo, Gina Gershon, Michael Madsen and Ricki Lake.
The movie was written by Curt Johnson, who also is producing with Steyermark; Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky are executive producing. Production begins on the privately financed film in November in Dallas.
