Columbia Pictures has brought in the accomplished writing team of Babaloo Mandel and Lowell Ganz to rewrite its comedy Last First Kiss, which is set to star Will Smith. Sweet Home Alabama director Andy Tennant is helming the project, which is scheduled for a March production start.
The project will star Smith as a date doctor who claims that he can match life mates in just three dates. When a beautiful female journalist enlists in the program, she attempts to expose the doctor as a scam artist.
The script was originally penned by Kevin Bisch and previously rewritten by Jessica Bendinger.
Mandel and Ganz have worked on hits like City Slickers and A League of Their Own. They also have worked on Disney's upcoming National Treasure, the animated 20th Century Fox feature Robots and the Fox comedy Fever Pitch.
